About Us

At Stortford Repair Café, we are a team of around 28 local volunteers dedicated to helping our community by encouraging skill-sharing, aiding those unable to afford repairs and providing community engagement. Our services are provided free of charge, but we welcome donations to cover our costs. 

Originating in the Netherlands in 2009, Repair Cafés can be found all over the world. They provide a space for people to bring in their damaged goods and learn repair skills from skilled volunteers, fostering a sense of community and promoting a shift towards a circular economy.
