When is your next repair café?

Our next café is on the 16th November 2024, 2-5 pm at the Emmaus Center, St James, Thorley, Bishop's Stotford.

How do I book an item for repair?

Via our bookings page. Please book your item giving as much detail as possible. We will check suitability for our cafe after booking and if we are unable to help we will email you. Our email address is not monitored for repair queries. 

Do you charge for repairs?

No - all repairs and PAT testing are free of charge, although we gladly welcome donations to help cover our costs.

Can I just turn up on the day?

No - due to high demand items must be booked in advance via the booking page.

What items do you repair?

We will endeavour to repair the following items:

• Household and garden electrical and mechanical - cd players, radios, toasters, hedge trimmers, lawn mowers etc. 

• Plastic, wooden and metal items - ornaments, toys etc.

• Clocks.

• Technology - computers & mobile phones.

• Bikes.

• Textiles - clothing, cushions, soft toys etc. We can only repair/replace 2 zips due to time constraints as these can take 2 to 3 hours. Alterations may be possible if we have the time.

• Faulty Christmas tree lights 🎄

• Please note we do not repair white goods (washing machines, fridges etc)

Are mains items PAT tested?

Yes, all mains items will be PAT tested before and after repair. We also provide free PAT testing for an item that doesn't need repair. eg. electric blankets, etc.

My item isn’t broken but needs servicing. Can I still book it in?

No - we only offer repairs at this moment in time.

Please also note the following:

We are a pop up Repair Café and therefore we do not carry spare parts.  If your item needs a spare part our repairers will inform you at the event.  You may then order the part yourself, with advice from our repairers, and book it into the next event for completion. We will then email you with an appointment time a couple of days before our next Repair Café.
